Smooth stump or scarred?
Smooth.
I am remembering frantana website from Tatiana Volkova. There was a section dedicated to a plastic surgeron, who was doing reshaped stumps and scars. Good job. 20 years ago.

Smooth stump or scarred?
Round neat the stump is definitely beautiful. But seen after traumatic amputations, their owner was equally as lovely
Smooth stump or scarred?
Considering myself, I noticed that it is rather the stump length and stump shape which plays thetrigger. For me the stump has to be rather short and round. If the stump is rather long or very thin, no trigger at all. A small scar yes. A big scar, maybe yes, it depends on the rest.

Like when the scar clearly marks the boundary between the posterior and anterior surface of the thigh, and that was kind of inside the tissue.

Re: Smooth stump or scarred?
I am curious about stumps in any form. I particularly want to understand the underlying tissue. Is it hard, or lumpy or smooth. What does the button behind congenital stump nubbin feel like?

Re: Smooth stump or scarred?
In my experience (only AK stumps and not congenital at that) it is smooth, just like muscle/fat mass, say in the buttock. The cut end of the amputated femoral bone can be surprisingly hard at first. Never touched a congenital amputation; never found any of them attractive.

Re: Smooth stump or scarred?
I like a smooth stump with a nice rounded end . I think if a lady has a had tragic amputation and her stump is very ragged and scared she should get a revision cosmetic surgery.
